Owners and technicians using Launch X431 diagnostic tools must complete a one‑time setup to avoid interruption of service.

• How it works: Every SFD activation now demands a fresh 6‑digit verification code from the authenticator app, ensuring an extra layer of security.
• Initial pairing: A one‑time QR code scan links your Launch X431 tool to the Google Authenticator app. This pairing is stored per device and does not need to be repeated.

Standard Operating Procedure – SFD Unlock with 2FA

Step 1 – Access the SFD Unlock Function

On your Launch X431 device, navigate to the SFD unlock menu and select “Online Activation”.

Step 2 – One‑Time QR Code Pairing

If this is the first time using the tool for SFD, the scanner will display a QR code. Open Google Authenticator on your mobile device, scan the code, and complete the pairing. (This step is required only once per Launch X431 unit.)

Step 3 – Retrieve the 6‑Digit Security Code

Open the Google Authenticator app on your phone and locate the current 6‑digit code for the paired Launch X431 entry. The code refreshes every 30 seconds, so work promptly.

Step 4 – Enter the Code on the Scanner

Type the 6‑digit code into the Launch X431 interface and confirm. The system will validate the code in real time.

Step 5 – Proceed with Diagnostics

After successful verification, the SFD is unlocked. You can now perform all standard diagnostic, coding, adaptation, and repair procedures without further restrictions.
